Video Demonstration and Learning Guide
Tai Chi is a Chinese
vision of the universe. The ancient classic
I Ching said: "Tai Chi begot two extremes
(yin & yang). Two extremes begot four
signs. Four signs begot eight divinatory
symbols. Eight divinatory symbols determine
good and bad fortunes." "Tai"
means hugeness, and "Chi" means
beginning or peak, referring to the integrity
when heaven and earth were one and undivided.
The wisdom of "Tai Chi" asserts
that yin and yang cannot exist without each
other, and that they interact with each
other continually and endlessly to create
all motions and all living beings.
About Tai Chi Chuan
Tai Chi Chuan originated from Chen-jia-gou
of Wen town in Honan province, China. It
combines Tai Chi's wisdom of yin & yang,
Chinese medical knowledge, breathing and
guiding of "chi" to create a martial
art that enriches body-mind integrity. Tai
Chi Chuan expresses in systems of motion
& stillness, masculinity & femininity,
emptiness & substance, openness &
closeness. It helps one to heal from the
depth and to strengthen one's health by
vitalizing inner energy centers. Nowadays
there are various kinds and trends of Tai
Chi Chuan, which are all from the basic
principles of Tai Chi.
About Tai
Chi Tao Yin
Created by the Tai Chi Chuan master Hsiung
Wei, Tai Chi Tao Yin is a way of practicing
Tai Chi Chuan. With an emphasis on relaxing
from inside out, it guides "chi"
to make one's body mild and soft mostly
by careful and artful turning and twisting
of one's fingers, limbs and other parts
of body. This method can bring new energy
through nervous system to the organs of
body to create holistic relaxation and tranquility.
It is one of the fittest and most convenient
regimes for modern people.
